Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much does it cost?
A: $225 per person

Q:
When do you fly?
A: We fly year-round at sunrise and during the summer also at sunset

Q: Why do you fly so early?
A: Early morning is a opportune time to fly as the winds are calmer at sunrise. After sunrise the sun begins to heat the air causing the winds to increase which results in undesirable flying conditions.

Q: Where do we fly?
A: We use various launch sites between the Hershey and Harrisburg areas. A favorite place we use when the weather conditions are favorable is George Park off Nyes Rd. Your pilot will brief you the day before your flight as to where the most probable launch site will be depending on that day's weather.

Q: How long will my flight be?
A: We will be flying about a hour depending on the wind speeds and weather.

Q: How far will we fly?
A: Since balloons float with the breeze the distances traveled in a hour's flight can vary, generally the distance we travel is around 6 to 10 miles.

Q: Will it be cold up there?
A: The temperature in the basket during the flight is the same as when on you're on the ground, The balloon floats along on the wind so there's no wind chill.

Q: Can I purchase a gift certificate?
A:  Yes, Gift certificates are available and will be valid for one year from the date of purchase.

Q: What should I wear?
A:  Dress as you would for an outdoor activity. The temperature in the air is approximately the same as on the ground. Hiking shoes or sneakers are better than sandles or flip flops, as we may land in tall grass or pastures.

Q: How many people can ride?
A: Our pilots will take no more than 2 people per ride. This is a private ride;  just you and the pilot.

Q: Can you provide rides for the physically disabled?
A: No. We cannot accommodate physically disabled passengers. For safety reasons and comfort, passengers must be able to climb into and out of the basket.
